The Apple TV is an excellent digital receiver. However, there are a number of factors that can cause your device to become unstable: internal software may be out of date, poor reception of the wireless signal, or poor connection of the audio-visual cable. Better control these factors regularly to avoid the failure of your Apple TV. Here's how. Step 1 Disconnect all cables and wires connected to your Apple TV receiver, and then reconnect them properly. Make sure they are firmly inserted, each in their respective port. Step 2 Turn on your TV set and choose the source channel on which the Apple TV is connected. The main Apple TV interface should appear on the screen. Step 3 Update Apple TV's internal software. To do this, press the "Menu" button on the Apple Remote. Next, choose "Settings" from the drop-down list and press the Select button in the middle. On the page that opens, navigate to "General". Step 4 When the "Software Update" option is highlighted, press the "Select" button on the remote control to start searching for an update. You will be asked to install it. And when the "Download and Install" or "Install Now" option is highlighted, press "Select". The installation will start automatically. Step 5 Reset the unit by simultaneously pressing the "Menu" button and the down arrow on your remote control for at least 6 seconds. The device will turn off and on again. Step 6 Check the wireless internet connection from the Router and Modem. If necessary, restart the modem before re-verifying the connection status.
