    Configure Apple TV

Before you can use your Apple TV, you must have the following items.

    • High Definition TV
    • A HDMI cable A network, AirPort, Wi-Fi wireless or Ethernet

    • An iTunes Store account

    1. Connecting to your wireless network

Apple TV helps you connect to your wireless network. If you use a name and password to access your network, have them at hand.
    Use the Apple Remote to:

    • Select your network from a list or enter the network name if it is a hidden network.
    • Enter your wireless network password (if applicable).
If you do not connect via DHCP, you may need to enter your IP address, subnet mask, router address, and DNS addresses.

To complete the connection setup on your network, follow the on-screen instructions.

    2. Setting up home sharing

After setting up your network connection, you need to set up iTunes and Apple TV to share the contents of your iTunes library. Use home sharing in iTunes and on your Apple TV to share the iTunes library of all computers on your network that have home sharing enabled.

To set up home sharing in iTunes:

    • Open iTunes on your computer
    • Choose Advanced> "Enable Home Sharing"
    •
Enter your Apple ID and password and click "Create Home Sharing"
    •
Repeat steps 1 through 3 on each computer whose content you want to share.
To learn more about iTunes, open iTunes and choose Help> iTunes Help.

To set up home sharing on Apple TV:

    • On the Apple TV, choose Settings> General> Computers.
    • Select "Enable Home Sharing", and then enter the same Apple ID and password as on the computer.
