    1. Use common sense when posting

    Things to avoid
    1. Misleading help to users
      Intentionally misleading other members is not a good way to contribute to the community. The point of the forum is to help others and share knowledge.
    2. Posting obscene/pornographic material
      This includes extremely obscene language. Despite the existence of filters, we trust our users to be tasteful and reserve the right
    3. Posting/discussing pirated applications
      This includes, but is not limited to:
      1. Posting or discussing cracked applications and tools for cracking applications
      2. Posting or discussing links to websites facilitating the cracking or sharing of cracked applications
    4. Discussion of illegal activity
      Please refrain from posting about anything that is illegal according to United States and/or California law. This includes, but is not limited to:
      1. Drugs/controlled substances
      2. Fraud (for example, how to break your iPod so that you can return it for an exchange)
    5. Flaming, trolling, insulting other members, excessive immaturity, etc.
      At the full discretion of the moderator, anti-social behaviors will be disciplined. We want a pleasant environment for the majority of members that are here for help and enjoyment.
    6. Advertisements or spam
      Refrain from shameless promotion and spamming of other sites. This also includes referral links, free iPod offers, etc.
    7. Fake/paid reviews/astroturfing
      We also do NOT allow reviews that do not disclose that a product was received for free or at a greatly reduced price, or where payment was exchanged for a favorable review. We consider this astroturfing.
    8. Discussions of politics and religion
      Although these are very important topics, tempers typically flare when they come up, so please keep these discussions off the site. Sure, you might be able to handle it, but all it takes is someone having a bad day to get a really nasty flamewar going
    9. Inciting unrest on the forums
      Encouraging users to break the rules, registering multiple accounts to circumvent bans, and other such activities will be swiftly stopped. Please note that registering multiple accounts for any other reason will also not be tolerated. creating another account to avoid a ban will result in permanent bans of all accounts. If you are sharing a computer or internet connection with another user of this site, please be especially mindful of the rules, as any ban on your account may also affect the other user unfairly.
    Things to keep in mind
    • Reminder: breaking any of the above rules 2 or 3 times (or at the discretion of the moderator) within a short time can result in a permanent ban.
    • The "report a post" feature can be used to bring a post to a moderator's attention. If you have any other concerns, feel free to send a polite private message to one of our moderators or administrator.
    • These rules are subject to moderator's discretion.
    • These rules may also apply to signatures, private messages, visitor messages and other areas of this website.
    Explanation of disciplinary actions

    There are two types of disciplinary actions for breaking the forum rules:

    Rule reminder (0 point warning): A rule reminder is a reminder that you are breaking the forum rules. Rule reminder are typically given out in less severe situations or to people making a mistake for the first time.

    Rule reminders are always worth 0 warning points and do not result in a ban.

    Warning: An warning is given out to a user who is breaking the rules. A warning results in an immediate ban from the forums, usually for 1 to 3 days depending on the point value of the warning. Our short ban times for the first few infractions are designed to encourage members to learn from their mistakes and resume their participation on the forums quickly.

    NOTE: Usage of rule reminders and warnings are fully at the discretion of the moderator.

    Point Values

    Rule reminders are always worth 0 warning points. Warnings vary from 1 - 6 warning points, depending on severity, and these points are added to your total score score. Warning points expire 6 months after they were given. For example, if you are given 2 infractions, both worth 2 points, you will have a total of 4 warning points. If you accumulate 6 warning points within a 6 month period, you will be permanently banned.

    The exact ban thresholds are as follows:
    • 1 warning point: 1 day
    • 2 warning points: 3 days
    • 3 warning points: 10 days
    • 4 warning points: 2 weeks
    • 5 warning points: 1 month
    • 6 warning points: Permanent ban

    The rules may be updated at any time. It is your duty to check back periodically.
