The Apple TVs come with a remote which is not necessarily ideal for adding text or navigating around the interface of your Apple TV. Fortunately, the AppleTV Remote App , available as a free download from your Apple, can transform your iPhone into a full-fledged Apple TV remote with a familiar navigation interface. Step 1 Turn on your iPhone and launch the App Store, the blue icon located by default at the bottom of your home screen. Step 2 Locate the application by typing Remote in the App Store search bar. Install it on your iPhone and fill in your iTunes credentials and passwords to initiate the installation process. Step 3 Turn on iTunes Home Sharing by clicking on this feature in the list on the left side of your screen. Start the program. Step 4 Enter your Apple ID and password according to the instructions. Step 5 Connect your iPhone to the WiFi network in your home. If you have not previously established this connection, click on the "Settings" icon on your iPhone. Step 6 Click the second list in "Settings" and watch the "Wi-Fi - Not Connected" message. In this case, make sure that the "Wi-Fi" setting is set to "On". Step 7 Select your home network from those in the "Choose network ..." field. If your network is password-protected, enter it. Step 8 Start the Remote app and log into "Home Sharing" using your iTunes credentials and passwords. Step 9 Now control your Apple TV with your iPhone. The Remote application uses an interface identical to the one you use to view a video on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It is also possible to deactivate the Remote application at any time and return to the normal remote control. Download AppleTV Remote App here.
