New iPhone feature: Portrait Lighting
This feature appears to be an enhancement of the iPhone’s Portrait mode effect for creating DSLR-like shots using depth by simulating different lighting effects.
Portrait Lighting is rumored to be a Portrait Mode refinement that uses the dual-lens camera depth-sensing capabilities to create different lighting effects. It’ll take advantage of machine learning to go well beyond adding bokeh.
Portrait Lighting will support:
- Contour Light
- Natural Light
- Stage Light
- Stage Light Mono
- Studio Light.
Also present is new video recording resolution and capture speeds:
- 1080p HD at 240 fps 480 MB with 1080p HD at 240 fps
- 4K at 24 fps (Footer) 270 MB with 4K at 24 fps (film style) (HEVC Footer) 135 MB with 4K at 24 fps (film style)
- 4K at 60 fps (Footer) 450 MB with 4K at 60 fps (higher resolution, smoother) (HEVC Footer) 400 MB with 4K at 60 fps (higher resolution, smoother)
The new OLED iPhone will also feature a True Tone Display. It should have Apple fans excited. Why? For one thing, their background-blurred portrait photos will look more impressive thanks to the Portrait Lighting.
Face ID is confirmed
As the Face ID leaks get more serious, the chances of Touch ID making it into the iPhone 8 seem very probable. Apple is confident that Face ID will replace Touch ID.
The Face ID setup process sounds a lot like Touch ID. The Face ID performs better when all angles of your face are captured according to new leak in the firmware code.
New Animated Emoji called Animoji
Animojis take advantage of the iPhone 8’s 3D face sensor capabilities to mimic your facial expressions, like a raised eyebrow or a smile.
We will find out everything about the new iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus tomorrow at the 2017 Apple Event.
