If you’re a member of Apple’s public beta testing group, then you’re in for a treat. Apple has just released the second public beta of iOS 11.3. This update comes with a whole new host of features to use, play around with, and test.
One big addition to iOS 11.3 beta 2 is ‘Battery Health’, which gives users details on battery capacity and peak performance capability. For those with older iPhones which have slowed down, Battery Health also provides information on when a device is being throttled. You can then tune battery settings to your liking via the performance management feature. This is huge news for people who have issues with their lithium battery.
Another huge positive to come with iOS 11.3 beta 2 is that iPhone performance feels much faster and smoother than it did previously. Swiping through the home screen and app pages suddenly feel quicker than it did before, and in a lot of ways, it’s like having a completely new, unused iPhone. Again, this will surely put a smile on the faces of iPhone users who downloaded iOS 11 and felt their phone become sluggish.
There is a myriad of other, smaller updates included in iOS 11.3 beta 2. For example, there have been a few additions to the Smart Invert option, which is slowly looking more and more like a ‘dark theme’ option for the iPhone. Some users have also reported that, with the new beta version, they’ve actually had a few gigabytes of storage returned to them. This is great for those who try and eke out as much space on their iPhone as they can get. Expect around 3 to 5 GB worth of space to reappear.
So, when can we expect iOS 11.3 beta 3? Seeing as beta 2 was released only two weeks after beta 1, we should expect beta 3 to be released on a similar timeline: two to three weeks. iOS 11.3, in a fully complete and finished state, should be downloadable by spring.
