Apple released iOS 11.2.6 earlier today, which has been Apple’s eleventh official update to iOS 11 since it launched a few months ago, back in September. The new update comes exactly a month after the last bug-related update, and this one is no different. If you’ve been having issues with the Telugu character bug or connecting apps with third-party accessories, then you may want to download iOS 11.2.6 as soon as possible.
Seeing as we’ve been inundated with a number of bug-related iOS updates, it’s safe to say that Apple certainly hasn’t been lucky when it comes to the usability of their software. Whether it’s luck or simply lazy coding, we aren’t sure. But what we do know is that the iOS 11.2.6 update mainly fixes the issue of the Indian language (Telugu) character which unintentionally and mysteriously froze people’s devices. At first, it became a major nuisance for Indian users and would even lock iOS users out of their Messages app until the conversation containing the character had been deleted. But once the information concerning the crash was leaked, it became a global issue: users would troll their friends and enemies alike, sending them the Telugu character to cause trouble. With the update, however, this will no longer be an issue.
Another fix that Apple has introduced with iOS 11.2.6 is to do with “an issue where some third-party apps could fail to connect to external accessories.” If you’ve been having issues with apps such as Google Home for Chromecast or Fitbit and one of their activity trackers, you may find that your problems have been resolved.
After so many iOS 11 updates, it’s no wonder Apple plan to push adding new features back, and instead want to focus on making their software the best it can be.
iOS users can download the new update now if they go into the Settings app, then into the General tab, where the update will be waiting for them.
