iOS 11.1 Beta 4 released, changes, improvements and more

Apple yesterday released the iOS 11.1 beta 4 of an upcoming iOS 11.1 update to developers, just 4 days after releasing the iOS 11.1 beta 3 and a month after releasing the iOS 11 update to the public.

Registered developers can download the iOS 11.1 beta 4 from Apple’s Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.

If you are registered as a developer with Apple, you can pick up iOS 11.1 beta 4 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

The iOS 11.1 beta 4 comes just 4 days after the release of iOS 11.1 beta 3 and it’s a relatively big update at 2.1 GB. Apple has also released the watchOS 4.1 beta 4. There’s really nothing in this beta update to get too excited about. The release notes for each subsequent release have become strictly cut and paste affairs, with the same bugs and features being identified each time.

iOS 11.1 beta 4 also includes the return of the 3D Touch multitasking app switcher, added with beta 2. The update also includes hundreds of new emoji from Unicode along with bug fixes and performance improvements. The build number of the iOS 11.1 beta 4 version for developers is 15B92.

Previous iOS 11 betas included:
Beta 1: Bug fixes and performance improvements.
Beta 2: New Unicode 10 emojis added + 3D Touch multitasking shortcut for switching between apps and calling App Switcher.
Beta 3: Reachability bug and 3D Touch lag fixes.

There is a high chance that iOS 11 Beta 4 is the Golden Master version as Apple prepares for the official release of the iPhone X.

Apple has also released the watchOS 4.1  beta 4 with Apple Music and Radio streaming.
