If you are looking for answers to these questions or some similar ones, you came to the right place. In this article, we will explain to you how to backup your contacts in three different ways.

Backup your contacts with iTunes

You will need your Mac or PC to do this and a cable to connect your iPhone to it. To backup contacts, plug your device into your Mac/PC and open up iTunes. Now select the small iPhone icon in the top left corner and press the ‘Backup’ button. Your contacts will now be saved to your Mac/PC, as well as other selected data.

Backup your contacts to iCloud

You can also backup your contacts to your iCloud right on your iPhone. To do this, head to Settings, tap your name at the top and select iCloud. All you have to do now is make sure Contacts are enabled to sync with your iCloud. And that’s it, your contacts will be saved to your iCloud now.

Export your contacts to a vCard file to your PC/Mac

For PC, go to, log in with your Apple ID and choose Contacts when you get in the menu. After that, choose the contacts you would like to backup and press right click on your mouse and select Export to vCard. Choose where you want to save this file and that’s it.

For Mac, go to your Contacts on your Mac computer, choose the contacts you would like to backup and head over to File > Export > Export vCard.  After that, choose the name you want for this backup and save it.

There are also other ways to do this, but these are the easiest one to use. Another method worth mentioning are third-party apps. For example, you download an app that saves all your contacts and sends them to your email in a vCard file.
