Ok, I got this working, blazingly fast, on an iPod Touch 8GB..

I am running Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.2 with iTunes 7.6

My iPod is full with music and stuff and I have bought the Software Upgrade..

I downloaded the latest ZiPhone package (1.1) of his website: http://zibree.blogspot.com/ ..

My iPod was on and connected to iTunes..

I unzipped the zip into a random directory..
    Then I opened up Terminal.app (Applications/Utilities)

In the Finder, go to the folder with ziphone in it, and drag the unix application (just called ziphone) onto the terminal window..

You will get something like this (without the quotes):

    "~/Desktop/ZiPhone/ziphone"

behind this you put this (without the quotes):

    "-j -v"

    -j for jailbreak
    -v for verbose mode

Then press enter, and ziphone will start working.. It automatically boots the iPod into recovery mode, does it's stuff, and after a few seconds, I was at my home screen again and iTunes started happily syncing and Installer.app was happily installed..

    Again, your mileage may vary..

    Zupah Eazy right?!?

I am going to try this right now. Thanks.

You have to be on an un-jailbroken 1.1.3 to use this method, yes?

Just in time. I just finished restoring my iPod to the 1.1.3 via iTunes. Time to do it and come back here for reports.

Hmm, maybe it's a wise Idea to add an alternate way to start ZiPhone..
I cannot edit the top post so try this:

Navigate to the folder ZiPhone is in.. You can do this like this:

Type "cd " (without quotes and with a space behind cd in the terminal..

Drag the folder ZiPhone is in to the terminal window.. press enter..

Now type the following (without quotes):

    "./ziphone -j -v"

No, all my songs and stuff were still on the iPod after the jailbreak.
