I tried running ziphone to jailbreak my itouch 1.1.4. It locked up during the process and now is not recognized by the computer or by itunes. All it does noy is pop open to an apple then a stream of code ending with

If you wish to boot the system:
    Exit

    May 5 18:20:50 Launchd[5]: can't exec /
bin/sh for single user: No such file or directory.

Is there anything that I can do to get it recognized so that I can do a restore?

Try forcing your iPod into recovery mode. To do this you have to turn off you iPod the when its off hold the home button. Plug it into your PC hold the home button the whole time.

I'm not sure if that is how you put it into recovery mode but it something like that I'm pretty sure you could find a guide on YouTube very easily.

EDIT: The above method is correct but it sounds like you have bricked your iPod. I stummbled across this video, check it out. It may help you.

Easy fix, use Ziphone to kick back into normal mode. Use Ziphone 2.6b next time and do the Fix NVRAM first.
