I had to go to another computer my iPod had never been on and restore it to 1,1,4. Then I used ziphone 2.5 jailbreak only option. The keyboard freeze stopped after that.

I also deleted all backups by going to Preferencess/Sync/ in the iTunes settings.

I swear this works I have done it myself just spam the jailbreak button until it gets past the error. You may have to try it a few times, but just restart it and put it back into normal mode.
    Props to mempf!!! :)

I have a 16GB Touch, and on my first install, my keyboard would freeze. What I did that worked on install #2:

    Using Windows XP:

    - Upgraded iTunes
    - Restored to 1.1.4
    - Named my iPod "Alex" (no spaces, no special characters. my original name "Alex's iPod" did)
    - Unchecked automatic sync'ing of music & pictures, hit apply
    - Eject iPod from iTunes, exit iTunes
    - Run ZiPhone 2.5, click Jailbreak a bunch of times (to overcome 16GB BSD error during jailbreak)
    - Added source to installer app before upgrading (still havent upgraded installer. will try that now)

    Been working fine, no freezes

You needs to get into DFU mode and then use Ziphone advanced tab to kick it out to normal mode. Then you need to figure out what you are doing! A good start would be download the current Ziphone software and you won't have that problem. 2.6b

What exactly do you mean by keyboard freezing? Do you mean it is slow to type? Or does it freeze and go back to home screen?
