K, for everyone with the keyboard freeze issue..here's what ya do.....I've tested 4 times, always perfect, and no freezing.....

-Delete any older backups of your ipod from with itunes.

-Do the upgrade or restore to 1.1.4 in tunes, let it finish....

    - When it gets to the part in itunes where it says new ipod detected, give it a new name, etc...DONT, just press eject, and close itunes.

    - Run ziphone2.5, and do the "jailbreak"option. let it do its thing, itunes may open up and tell ya new ipod detected in restore mode, etc, with a popup box during the jailbreak process...IGNORE IT and dont click it, let the jailbreak finish...voila...all done, no keyboard freezing anymore.

Keep in mind I'm on an 8gb ipod touch, so not sure if this goes for all ipod's or not

That, you are not supposed to get.

When you get that, put your iPod Touch into Restore mode.

Then use ZiPhone 2.5 to kick it back into Normal Mode.

To put it in Restore mode, follow the first link in my Signature but STOP after Step 5.

    Still getting issues

    Hi
I have a new 8GB touch, brought it on Saturday and with it being my first ever Ipod i let Itunes upgrade the firmware to 1.1.4

I've been trying all weekend to JB the thing but it fails. I've tried various methods and ziphone 2.5 seems to be the best option but it always fails during the load
IE i click on jalbrek and the touch reboots in recovery mode and starts the script update then hangs with this as the last code to run:-
Spammin AT, waiting for a response

I have followed your guide and restored via Itunes to 1.1.4 (cant downgrade to older version as it has an error) but i still get the error any ideas?

That was totally confusing, please use detail. Delete any backups using itunes? how do i do that. when ziphone is done the jailbreak it doesnt say new ipod detected, you only see new ipod detected when you put it into recovery mode before the jailbreak. can you explain steps for noobs like me?

You don't have to delete the backups, as long as you eject, you won't have to worry. It does do it, your computer is just slow... ZiPhone automatically puts the iPod in Recovery Mode when you click jailbreak.
