    Hello, my friends.

I had another brand's AV Composite Cable a week ago, and often worked fine. And when it did, I was able to watch YouTube on my television [great].

I returned it because [being my 2nd cable from that brand] it was going to stop working in a few months. Then, I went to the Apple Store and got the 'legit' Composite Cable.

Went home, sighed at its beauty, and connected it. When I tried to stream YouTube on my television, it didn't work!

Is there a valid explanation for this, or is Apple just that f**ked up?

I had a composite cable and it got messed up in april after a few months because it was a cheap piece of crap that cost the same as Apple's. So i got another one in the meantime, then i returned it and got the Apple one.

YouTube worked fine on my television with the other cheap cable. With Apple's cable, it only plays on my iPod but NOT my TV. Isn't Apple's cable supposed to be the better one??

Are you trying to use it with an iPhone, or an iPod touch?

Are you jailbroken, are you not jailbroken?
What firmware version are you running?
Do you have MMP Flip (WinterBoard version) installed?

Those are questions easily answered by looking to the left below my avatar lol.

But seriously, thanks for helping me... I don't have MMP flip. I can stream my iPod videos perfectly, even the ones downloaded on MxTube. The short version of my problem is this:

I was able to play/stream YouTube videos on my TV with my RocketFish AV cable. But now with my new Apple cable, the YouTube videos can't be shown on my TV and are just seen on my iPod. I'd like to know what happened...

    Ok,
How about the videos in your ipod. Do they work with the apple cable?

What exactly happens when you open YouTube with your A/V cables attached?

Can you stream regular Video from the Videos app?

yeah, they work perfectly. it's just the YouTube vids that r not playing/streaming.

Its just that I was used to just streaming them in YouTube without having to download them and waste space.

    Try this:

Play a YouTube video with the A/V files attached.
Unplug them, and then plug them back in.

Im sure youve tried this before, but, just a thought...

    EDIT:

Have you tried (instead of downloading) to use the stream button in MxTube?
    ... Just a thought.

After all, MxTube isnt just used to download videos from YouTube, its actually a good replacement for the original app. The stream button just might work.

MxTube works fine, both streaming and downloading.

The thing is, I have YourTube and it saves me the hassle of using MxTube and losing my history videos and such. Instead, I can just use YouTube all the time.

Sorry if it seems like i'm making a big deal out of nothing, but I can't understand how/why an Apple cable doesn't work with YouTube, but a seemingly inferior and defective RocketFish cable does.

EDIT: unplugging/plugging doesnt work, but thanks!
