Now that the jailbreak for the ipod touch 2G is looming in the air, and thousands of excited 2G users are constantly refreshing redsn0w.com, what is your stance on the legality of jailbreak? Someone at Apple is probably going to be thinking, "Uh-oh, I forgot to fix that loophole..." when news of a jailbreak reaches Apple. Do you think this is going to be a repeat of what happened with the 2G, with Apple coming out with refined firmware, refined itunes, and eventually a new device that will patch the exploit and the Dev Teams will be off to work again? Or do you think that Apple should let the Jailbreaking community be... because after all, we have most likely increased the sales of their products.

Apple will never leave the hacking community alone. Why? Because they're going to lose money if they do.

Can't be as bad as the person who coded that leap year bug in the Zune hardware.

i dont they should try to stop the jailbreaking/ hacking (any ipods) scene in any way
because whatever they do we are going to still find a way around it
they might as well focus on making their own ipod firmwares better than the jailbroken firmware if anything

Well, if they don't leave us alone, they will lose even more money because of how many people buy an iPod touch and iPhone just because they want to jailbreak it.

Not much compared to those who don't.
