If your iPod does not start up, keys are jammed, or iPod is untouchable, DFU AND RESTORE FIRST.

Sorry if you think this thread isn't necessary but some people have to learn here. Every day I see at least 3 threads saying HELP MY IPOD IS BROKEN! when in fact it's perfectly fine it's just that some kind of glitch happened while updating/installing the firmware.

Oh and read the sticky's they are very useful.
So please to all the people who think their iPods are "broken" DFU first and if it doesn't work, take it to apple.

    Thank you.

While I can appreciate what you're trying to do, it won't help in the slightest.
People who post threads saying that their iPod is bricked don't search or read stickies.

Entering the death command nor attempting to dual boot can brick an iPod, nor will doing anything via software with the touch.

Dual booting can brick an iPod touch. It was proven by the Dev Team themselves...

well i think if you dump your ipod in water for 5 minutes and forceabl turn it on. to short out the circuts. then it might be bricked... right or no?

No because you short circuited it.
    Therefore it's not "bricked" lol

i suggest put the stickies at the very first page of this site.

so they can read it immediately .

to avoid people questioning about their ipod being bricked, or whatever.

    i think that will solve.

Sadly, many users come onto iPod touch Fans merely to ask one question: they don't pay attention to any other threads and once their own thread is answered, you never see them again.
