I'm sure you all know how Google is, with the information and all that.

So what information do you think Google is gathering based on your Web surfing behavior?

I mean, now that it's fully integrated into your desktop, there's no wondering what else they could be tracking or monitoring

They're going to gain little information even if they really are monitoring our behaviour.

For the simple reason what can monitoring our browsing experience tell them other than we don't use google to search for pr0nz we sometimes use yahoo to search for it too?

You know its funny. But just based on what you search for, anyone can find who you are, where you live, information about you ETC.

Which is exactly what happened to one woman who used AOL's search stuff long ago.

Now Google has nearly all your information. Wonder what could happen to you

Yeah, i read about a woman (dunno if it was the same one) who got her bank hacked using simple information on what she searched.

Other than ip tracking and locating (or ISP tracking) i don't see how they know where i live, for the simple reason i NEVER give real information out on the internet about where i live (i dont have a myspace account, i dont have a facebook page), i always lie. I also never really search for things within my area, being the nerd i am i'm more interested in global affairs.

Let me take you through the sad life of when i'm stuck in the house:

    1. load firefox up
    2. load google -- even though i rarely search first thing
    3. load digg - for the news (and i rarely log on using my account)
    4. load deviantART
    5. load iptf - again just for news really
    6. load youtube, see the featured videos
    7. close firefox

    (irrelevent?)

    8. Turn on xbox 360
    9. Play a game (whichever takes my fancy)

I say the 360 is irrelevent because even though i DO provide real information i never visit xbox.com, plus playing on my 360 doesn't really count as searching does it?

So based on steps 1-7, HOW, HOW, do they know my information?
