    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

i just spent ALL MORNING downgrading, jailbreaking, upgrading, installing software on my iPod and i go to the god damn SMB prefs to change my theme to leopard and i get a spinning gear that keeps on spinning. And it kept spinning.

I restarded. There is no spinning gear, just the apple the shows up forever without actually booting up!!!!!!

My computer recognizes the iPoT and does not throw it into restore mode. THERE MUST BE A QUICK FIX. I AM SO SICK OF THIS F***ING PROCESS.

**I CAN SYNC MY IPOD. ALL I CAN SEE IS AN APPLE THOUGH... any REAL suggestions?

the last thing i want to do is this process again. Yes, this means I am NOT looking to restore, but rather some way to get past this. Restoring is the last thing I want to do right now, even though I may have to.

idk if it will work, but try using iphuc to put your ipod into recovery mode and then use itunes to restore it. you'll have to downgrade and jailbreak again, but your ipod should still work.

WOW. You did not address my concern at all.

    Read a book, son.

    Hard Restore.

Hold the home button , and hold the power button

When the apple logo appears , release the power button keep holding the home button

Wait till itunes recognizes your ipod touch it will go into recovery mode

It says your in recovery mode, Hold down the shift key and Browse for the iPod Touch firmware

Yeah how is it not clear that restoring is NOT the goal here?

And fix the punctuation in your signature, smartass.

Wow the first SCOD I had was because of picking the leopard theme.

I think you'll have to restore sorry.

But, you might be able to ssh in and delete the summerboard.app?

    then go to /var/root/Library/Summerboard

    and delete those files.

Try using ibrickr. This happened to me and it worked. But there is no 100% guarantee.
