Got my email from AT&T but my question is... It says I need to restore the phone to unlock it.... Can I used 5.0.1 with saved blobs/key? or will I be required to update to 5.1?

For me it worked without restoring. Pull in a different SIM card, then connect the iphone and open Itunes. It will do the activation without restoring.

Depends on the Carrier you are using. For me it's german t-mobile, so the carrier is "Telekom.de 11.0"

Well I was able to unlock my phone via the redsnow method. But I do not have the option to view APN settings (the only reason I wanted to unlock). Oh well.
