Have a jailbroken Ipod touch 3g 3.1.3. have backed up blobs

agreed to sell the ipod to a buyer tomorrow! So tonight I went to the settings and chose something like 'erase all content and settings' as i wanted to set it back to factory... guess this was a stupid thing to do!

I am trying to now restore the ipod.. i seem to be in a loop with the apple showing... i can break the loop by holding down the power and home, then releasing power and i guess i am in DFU mode. I then try to use itunes but it says 'this ipod cannot be restored. an unknown error occured'. this is after a LOOONG wait where itunes is saying 'preparing ipod for restore'. during this long wait, i can see the white apple on the ipod, so i'm thinking something has gone wrong by this point....

pretty desperate! all i can think of from here is to install itunes on my work computer tomorrow morning and upgrade the ipod to 4.0? don't think the buyer will care but right now its unusable!

    any advice?

Rule 1, and this has been stated hundreds of times.

NEVER, EVER 'erase all content and settings' on a jailbroken iPod

you can try force recovery restoring.

    1. Turn iPod off
    2. Hold home button
    3. Plug it in
    4. Hold button until the 'connect to itunes' screen apppears.
    4. Restore
