Hi, from a long time forum stalker/not often poster. I'm not sure how many people have seen me around before, but does anyone have any rom/kernel recommendations for this awesome device. (GSM version)

I've already rooted and flashed clockworkmod (easiest device for this ever), so I don't need any instructions. Just recommendations please.

Also nice would be some battery saving tips.

    Thanks to anyone who replys.

I would suggest CM9. I don't personally own a GNex, but the Cyanogenmod roms are amazing on pretty much any device. I own a Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch, but its unrooted. I have an old HTC hero that I rooted and put CM7 (android 2.3) on, and it actually made the phone decent again. It was fine with stock cupcake, but once eclair came to it, it was terrible. Cyanogenmod is a phone saver.

Cyanogen is awesome, and is what made me continue to use my old wildfire until now, but do you know wether the nightlies are stable? I haven't tried, but I don't think there are stable releases yet, but CM9 is one of the ones I've been considering.

I'm not too sure if they're stable. I don't have a Nexus to try it out. For other ROMs, you can go check out a user named qbking777 on YouTube. He does rom reviews for several devices every so often, including the GNex, and there have been some pretty good looking ones. He details all parts of the rom so you know what you're getting when you flash it. And he almost always makes a video on how to flash it, includes the download link on those videos I believe.

    try PARANOIDANDROID/CM9-Kernel, AOKP/Franco-Kernel or Black Ice/Franco-Kernel.
AOKP/Black Ice/Franco-Kernel give you great performance and awesome battery life compared to stock

I can't find a better combo than AOKP and Franco kernel (currently Nightly #191). Easily the fastest device I've used, great battery life too.

    You'll love it :)

    Same here! :)
I should update the kernel though, I'm currently using nightly #186. Thanks for the reminder. :p

Okay everyone, so I should try AOKP and LiquidSmooth with Franco kernel. AOKP does look like the best rom, but I might try other kernels too (GLaDOS looks cool, but If Franco is better I have no problems with it looking at it now.
