Yesterday i got myself a gtx 260 216. yay for me. Almost every game im playing now goes smoothly on a stable 60fps. Though the one i want to play the most , tes IV: oblivion' is always stuck on 30-32fps. shizz.

Turn off Visual Sync in Oblivion to get better performance. I hope to order a 4770 today.

the strangest thing about oblivion is that even at the lowest possible settings its still
stuck at the damn 32 fps

Go 4890, you wont be dissapointed, it will play absolutely anything, including crysis at very high settings and its roughly 200 bucks. Thats what i got for my new computer i built and it works insanely well.
Ill have to try oblivion, is it extremely graphics intensive?

    Ehhhh, a 4770 ?
(Assumes this is meant for a gaming PC)
Sure, it's a good budget card, but games are gonna get harder to run, and you'll wish you never bought it and wish you got something good in the first place, unless you plan on getting 2 and crossfiring them, then they show 4890 performance.

    I also have a GTX 260, a PNY brand, it's OC'd quite a bit.

That was for my current Dell desktop, a family computer. It's a small case with tons of heat pockets (graphics card is 73 degrees now) with only 9 inches to accommodate a graphics card, some of which is taken up by the hard drive. I think i'm gonna build a computer soon (like in the month) with which i am going to get a 4870. Should run all games great on my 19" Vizio (1366 x 768).

@rokr: Not really. I have oblivion and can run it with a 256mb 8600 gt at high settings at 1024 x 768

I remember when the ATi Rage Pro was the one of the most bad ass cards around.

Make sure you have your refresh settings set up properly in Oblivion
