I setup a YahooMail account a few days back as a workaround to get mails from my GoogleMail account (via forwarding) pushed on my iPod, however Push does not seem to work. It works perfectly with IM+. Any ideas?

I also have this issue even though notifications from other apps work.

I tried everything possible to get push alerts for Yahoo mail working. creating a new account never does. I even called Yahoo and Apple.

I got this link from Apple http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2625?viewlocale=en_US

what beats me is that I do not have the option to choose "push" in the advanced settings for my Yahoo account; only for mobile me accounts. I can only choose fetch or manual and according to apple, " Fetch or push settings can be configured for individual accounts in the Advanced settings area. Note that setting Push to OFF or setting the fetch schedule to Manually will supercede individual account settings."

can anyone with yahoo push notification working tell me if they have the option to choose push in there advanced settings.

Yeah, same for me. I can only select 'Manual' and 'Fetch' in the individual settings, no 'Push'.

GoogleMail does not work with Push (yet?). That is why I set up a YahooMail account which is supposed to support Push and forward all my email from my GoogleMail account to YahooMail.

I was wondering if someone with a mail.app that has yahoo push working can somehow upload it. I am not sure if it will make a difference, but it's worth trying to install it on my ipod.

Yahoo push mail only works on the iPhone, we would need the mail.app from the iPhone and install it on the iPod, then we can select push option and then maybe it will work.
