    i was thinking about having the yahoo messenger for ipod touch. also since yahoo messenger 8.1 and above allows to send SMS messages to anyone's cell phone using ur yahoo id then why not enable that feature as well?

    Its a good idea, but you can already use yahoo messenger on various websites.

    like which was explain? but like maybe a app is that u can just stay connected and whenever u get a new text itll pop up or has a number on top of the app . like a sms XD. but mainly im looking for the sms feature

    I agree...I hate hitting the refresh button on the WAP Yahoo Messenger...Something maybe like Apollo except without all the Authentication errors

    Well, they made the program for other platforms. If they don't support jailbreaking, then they're not going to support making it for the iPod touch/iPhone. Perhaps on the App Store on a later date.

    Also, SMS is what a phone is for. I'm not sure, but I think programs such as Apollo and Mobile Chat support the Yahoo! protocol.

    apollo and mobile chat doesnt support yahoo!
