I tried to get yahoo mail to work with push on 2.0 for my ipod touch but it fetches at the normal interval in the settings. also, there is no option to select push for the yahoo account, there's only fetch. is it not possible to get yahoo email to update via push on 2.0 for the touch right now or is there a way around it?

You have to pay to use Push with Yahoo.

    Only fetch unless you pay.

Who says you have to pay? What proof do you have? That's a claim I've seen no one else make, and Apple specifically denies it.

i have push email with my yahoo free account on my 3gs,i had the same trouble as you guys with it only doing fetch to start with but found out it was my old email account that did push was stopping it,you can only have one exchange type email account on your device,as soon as i removed the old email account the yahoo one went to push, you could also try this,i did not use the instructions yahoo gave me to setup the my phone,i just setup a new email account on my phone and selected yahoo and just entered my email address and password and it has worked great ever since.

If you look on Yahoo's site, it specifically tells you that POP email comes with a monthly fee. I believe it is called Yahoo Pro, but I don't remember. You would be better off switching to Gmail. All you have to do is mass email all of your contacts informing them of your new email address and change your email on the sites you care about. Not a big deal

I wouldn't use Yahoo at all, mainly because it is a piece of crap.
