Hey all. Let me introduce my self. I am the developer of WLMI, an application that allows users to install a certain Windows program on their Mac... Many of my users would like to install the Windows Mobile version of this program on their iPhone or iPod Touch. So, one day, I set off with a mission: to bring Wine to the iPhone OS. I set on building Wine on my iPod Touch. After a few chokes about gcc compilers, which were quickly resolved, Wine-1.1.27.deb was happily building on the iTouch. A slight choke about FreeType Fonts, and a few other shinanagans, but nothing fatal. The absolute killer came when make complained, rightfully so, about there being no X cursor support, no X... And so on. The shocking and unbelievable truth had hit me: no one has yet created an X server for the iPhone OS. Why? A device that has the power to run Windows XP in Bochs does not have the necessary programs to allow it to run Wine in X11 ? The mere thought is absurd, yet here we are. Am I alone in thinking that this would be useful ?
