Ok i've been reading all day that you can't downgrade 3.1.1 to 3.0 ?

I just downgraded to 3.0 using iTunes 9 with no problems what so ever using DFU mode

    So, if I randomly decide I don't want 3.1, I can't go back to 3.0?

I thought this only applied to unlocked phones?
Oh well. I don't see a reason to go back to 3.0.

ScribeOne people can't downgrade because the 3GS is different from the iPod's and older iPhones due to the fact that when the firmware is being upgraded iTunes sends the phones ECID to Apples servers and then Apple signs 2 files and sends then back as part of the process. As soon as 3.1 came out Apples servers stopped signing those files for old firmwares.

Even if you are on 3.0 or 3.0.1 you can't restore to the same version if you have problems. So people have to hope they have no problems until the jailbreak is out or they are forced to the newest firmware.

    I know that..
But since this thread is in the iPod touch FW 3.1 section, I'm guessing the OP was talking about an iPod touch?
