I have 3 computers in my house. when spirit came out 2 computers were able to run spirit. i recently restored because of some launchdaemons i deleted. when i went to go jailbreak with spirit i get a message when trying to run the application it says "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have te appropriate permissions to access the item." and i also have no spirit icon for the application it is just the default .exe icon.

    Failed Solutions

right click applications click preferences go to general tab and click unblock (there is no unblock button for me)

open windows in safe mode and then run application
(it worked to open spirit, but it did not detect my ipod while windows was in safe mode)

    Please help!

See, deleting daemons and installing ram increasing apps is dangerous, even if you dont want to believe it...

Try using a different web browser like firefox or chrome and download spirit again from www.spiritjb.com

Sounds like your AV (Antivirus) thinks Spirit is a virus, trojan, etc.
    What antivirus do you have?
AVG did this for awhile for me.
You can try booting into Safe Mode and running as that, or uninstalling/disabling AV for the while when you use Spirit.
    Completely redownload Spirit.

Yes, I'm saying AV, when an AV senses a 'virus' the AV, or at least my AVG, will lock down that program/file via Windows, so I can't move it, and only delete it.

    I also have a feeling you're using W7?
