ok, so I plugged my touch into my computer at work. It went through the normal "found new hardware" stuff, then a balloon popped up and said "Ipod" .....ok, no big deal....but then this bubble popped up! wtf?

do you think some of the hardware or more likely software from the iPhone is still left on the touches?

Was this your very first time plugging it in? Do you have i-tunes installed? Latest Windows update installed?

No, not the first time. Yes I have iTunes 7.5. as for the latest windows updates. I am not 100% positive but I would say yes.

Well, I find it odd that it recognized it before, but not anymore. Sorry I can't help any further, other than to say, try it on a different computer and see what happens. If it doesn't pick it up there, I would restore it.

He's saying that because other people have experienced exactly the same thing and there are a bunch of threads on this topic.
