Today I turned on my iPod Touch...

And the sleep button is working, but sometimes it's not. Example:
I went to turn it into sleep mode, and it wouldn't. So I pressed the sleep button a few more times. NOTHING. Then it pops up the "Slide to Power Off" Slider.

    What should I do?

Take to Apple, make sure it has no trace of a jailbreak.
    Unless you never jailbroke.

Mine does this. Also sometime when i tap an application it lags so much that it thinks im holding it and the icon re-arranging screen comes up. But my screens cracked so i can't take it in, it started right after it cracked...
A reboot fixes it though. Stops lagging instantly.
