Yeah, so I finally got a new computer and right now I'm in the process of trying to figure out this jailbreaking stuff.

I was an avid iPod Touch hacking using "Installer" (Is that still around?) and I was using 1.1.3...yeah thats how it's been.

So I haven't really been on the scene lately, so I was wondering if I could get some quick updates on some stuff?

Anything new? Has 2.2 been firgured out yet (like most apps work for it)?

Anything helpful would be appreciated, thanks.

Most of the games and stuff stopped getting worked on, because they were moved to AppStore.

So is the general conseses (sp?) go with 2.0 if you're not to experienced and 2.2 if you pretty much do this for a living?

2.2 software allows you to use the Appstore, alot of applications from Installer are in the Appstore and Cydia, some in the Appstore cost money, some don't, stuff in general got better, its been improved and most things in 1.1.x are still around in some shape or form

That sums it up and is the jist of it, have fun.

If you're going to update, it should be to 2.2 or 2.2.1. Many apps in the App Store have been updated and require the newer firmwares.

Edit: So if I do buy it, something happens and I (don't even remember the word....gahh), but something happens and I have to start the iPod from zero again, would I have to buy 2.2 again?

the 2.2 update costed money for 1g owners to upgrade, standard on 2g. i think theres your charge. It would be worth every penny though
