say you had an external hard drive.. if you installed itunes DIRECTLY to the hard drive and had all your downloaded songs (since i use limewire and google inurl) on the hard drive and in your iTunes library

would you be able to plug your ipod into any computer that didnt have itunes installed onto the internal hard drive but had the external hard drive connected would work? all your songs would be there.. it would show you all your songs on your ipod and allow you to add more songs to the ipod

    is this possible?

this may work but if it doesnt its because itunes may need to be directly installed onto the computer you are using it with but with all your songs on your hard drive you can just put them right on there.
