Would this following fault come under the standard 1year warranty: i have like 6 or more white dots(groups of) on my screen when i have it turned it off, and when i turn it on they are now black dots, should i call apple? would this warranty a repair/new ipod? (This product(ipod touch) is still under the year warranty!)
any help would be greatly appreciated

You can do that and waste your time or you could just reboot if that doesnt work restore. Its NOT the device its the firmware.

Yes, that would be covered by the warranty. If it is jailbroken, DFU + Restore. If not, just bring it in to an Apple Store.

I believe if a certain amount of pixels are like that then they will replace it.
