so i'm just wondering with the later launch in other countries or specifically mine (australia) would that mean they have a chance to fix the antenna issue or instead we have to simply use the bumpers?is it an issue that can't be fixed on apple's behalf?cheers

They could fix it but they might not as it would be unfair on the 3 million people that already own one they will probably just give free cases

I think that is the idea, and one of the reasons we (Australia) were delayed.

I bet you the first stock that comes to australia will have antenna issues.

The delays are because of the availability of iPhone screens...
they cannot handle the high demand of devices

Apple stated that they hadn't found a way around the laws of physics yet, which is why they're giving out free cases. I highly doubt the new stock has fixed the 'problem'

There are also reports that the world is going to end in 2012.

It's pretty much common sense that no company in the spotlight as much as Apple is would secretly fix all outgoing iPhones from the time the issue became a widespread attack on the company. If somebody were able to prove that Apple was indeed doing something different to the newer phones while leaving the previously-sold devices without any attention, they'd be facing some major image/brand issues as well as probably legal issues too.

If they found a way around the issue, I'm sure they'd announce it, boasting that they're the first in the smartphone industry to overcome this industry-wide issue.
