would best buy geek squad fall for this

    this is just out of curiousity, i dont plan to do it , but do you think if i brought my ipod touch in to the geek squad in dfu mode and told them it wont turn on, do you think they would actually think it was broken and give me a new one (with my replacement plan thing).
    i hope this isnt an illegal thread.. i wouldnt think it would be, im just curious how smart they are

    no, they would connect it to their computers, run a program that does diagnostics, and that program would tell them it's in dfu mode

    They probably know the basic theory that restoring an iPod fixes it, so they would probably restore it for you even if they didn't know it was in DFU Mode.

    well you shouldn't even wonder about this. enjoy what you got and dont try to scam people like that. i know people in the past have gotten warnings for things like this. i wouldn't give you one but its not up to me.

    Just do it anyway.

    If they don't give you a new one try it at another best buy.

    i want to make it clear and understood i will never even think about actually doing this. honestly, i have enough dust under my screen i could get a new one from them (i asked they said it was enough) i obliviously dont plan on getting a new one from them,, this was merely curiousty
