Hmm, I can upgrade to 1.1.2 with no problem using 7.6, but can't jailbreak it. Just goes to "connect to iTunes" screen.

So is there a different file for 1.1.2 update? Because all of the ipod files I have has restore written in them. Where can I find the 1.1.2 update file? The file I have says ipod,1_1.1.2_3B48b_restore. I've jailbroken to 1.1.2 twice and it worked , but now everytime I try it tells me that I don't have oktoprep installed. What am I doing wrong ? Are you holding down the shift key + update insted of the shift + restore ? Is this what your talking about. need 1.1.2 back. Anyone can answer. Thanks.

I've tried in itunes 7.5 and 7.6 , still no luck.

How come doesn't it work for me?
Every time i get the unknown error(1) and rupert gee has commented that i should just redo it... redone it 5 times now... every time i just had to restore back to 1.1.3....

Is it normal that it says that its in restore mode? or should it be in some kind of DFU mode?(the notice window, "itunes has found an ipod in blah blah blah...)

EDIT: @e-mann, you should option/Shift update from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2, not restore, since you are updating, ah?
