Worked fine for me too, using iTunes 7.6! The 1.1.2 Jailbreak is also working. No problems with OktoPrep, no need for me to use iTunes 7.5.

Yeah, I don't want to sound all cynical, but I am gonna consult some people before I attempt to do this.

    Didn't work for me:

    iTunes 7.6
    iPod 1.1.3
    Firmware 1.1.2

    I'll give firmware 1.1.1 a try. :)

For those of you that this didn't work for. Why don't you give us step by step what you're doing and we'll see if we can't get it working for you, instead of just saying "it didn't work for me"

I followed the instructions carefully but with the 1.1.2 firmware and iTunes gave me an error after it tried to install that firmware.
I can't give you the exact error because it was written in German and I don't know how the error message would look like in English.

    I'll try the 1.1.1 firmware now. :)

Ok, I downloaded the file 'iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore.ipsw.zip'.
I used iPhuc (for mac) to enter the recovery mode.
I went to iTunes and clicked the restore button while pressing 'alt'. I choose the 'iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore.ipsw.zip' file and iTunes unpacked the files. When the unpacking was done I got an error message:
iPod (iPod) can't be restored. There was an unknown error (1). (translated from German).

I even renamed the file to ''iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore.ipsw' but that also didn't work. :(

That isn't necessarily true. Any post that is very helpful will be stickied. My guess is just that none of the mods have gotten around to it.

Anyways, thanks for this, I'm still going to stick with 1.1.2 but if I feel the need to check 1.1.3 out, I'll make sure to remember this.
