Ok, so I spent most of my day trying to get this working, and I hope it was worth the effort.

Here is a guide to getting a working offline advanced periodic table onto your ipod...

    1. Download a program called Pagenest here:

    http://pagenest.com/download.html

    2. On your pc, go to http://www.chemicool.com/

    3. In pagenest go to 'new' / 'single page' and enter http://www.chemicool.com/

    4. Click 'next' and under 'range' make sure it's set to 'Single Page', make sure 'sub-pages' only is checked off (leave checkmark in the box)

    5. Click 'next' and then 'download' and let it do it's thing...

    6. On your pc, under 'my documents' you will now find 'webstripper/chemicool"

    7. Using SSH, transfer the entire 'chemicool' directory to: /private/var/root/Library/WebServer/Documents on your ipod. You may have to create the WebServer/Documents directory.

"Instead of puttings the chemicool folder in private/libary/webserver/documets
you put the files into /libary/webserver/documents" ----- Thanks Edmarriner.

    8. Install Apache on your ipod.

    9. In safari on your ipod navigate to http://127.0.0.1/chemicool/index.html

    10. Bookmark this page, and you can now use this anytime offline.

I hope this guide was helpful and useful to some...

Here's a few snapshots of it. All of the elements are tapable, and each comes with a wealth of information....

Are you sure you have Apache installed? What happens if you go to just http://127.0.0.1 ?

You should get a page saying that apache is properly installed and working.

Make sure the directory is spelled and capitalized properly.. /WebServer/Documents

and make sure it you are going to: http://127.0.0.1/chemicool/index.html in safari... make sure there is not a "/" after index.html.
