can you be a little specific on what to do for this part?

    "Extract it.

Opened up a Terminal and changed into the 1.1.4 Jailbreak folder

    Executed jailbreak.sh."

Lets say I put the folder in the root of the hard drive would I type in terminal?

    sudo -s

    cd /1.1.4_Jailbreak_MacOSX

    ./jailbreak.sh

    Hey FlipJonesy,

I have updated the post. Now the code block can just be copy pasted into a Terminal window.

    Cheers,
    DanBUK.

doesn't work for me, the process goes fine for me, but I need OpenSSH installed, or else I would get an error in terminal about the connection to port 22 refused, but with OpenSSH it worked fine in terminal. Nothing happens on the ipod, not even after a reboot

If this is a 1.1.4 jailbreak, shouldn't this be attempted from 1.1.4, and not 1.1.2 as the blog says to do?

    It's not a true jailbreak, it's a 1.1.2 softupgrade to 1.1.4

Sorry I thought that was implyed by the referance i made to the other post that i followed.

    Let me clear it up.

I got this to work from 1.1.2 with OpenSSH installed and the IP address of the iTouch known.

Also to check it before running jailbreak.sh i ssh root@iphoneIP to check the pass, and cause the initial generation of the keys.

Also good point, I need to add in a sudo prior to the ./jailbreak.sh:
    sudo ./jailbreak.sh

If it doesn't reboot, then power off and start it back up.. That should work.

    Does that clear things up?

    Cheers,

    Dan.

Indeed hence Soft in the title of the Post.

Do you know of a True Jailbreak that works on 1.1.4 with a 32Gb iTouch?? Because I would prefer that method...

    Cheers,

    Dan.

It would be nice if that was reliable. I haven't suceeded yet, even tried concurrently spawning 10 pause 1 spawn 10, etc, etc...

Looks like i need to unpack the ramdisk and see why the ziphone method is failing for a true version...
