Is it possible to have and an app that would let you create or edit word or excel documents?
no, try asking microsoft
Maybe the people who made Open Office will make one. I would pay big money to have a full fledged word/excel/powerpoint app on my iphone. Especially if it could do everything the computer version can (within reason), especially given the copy-paste features on 3.0.
If someone could make it well, it would easily be the number 1 app forever and they could charge a large amount for it and they would make a killing. But i would imagine it would be fairly hard and long to make.
Note: I don't mean specifically Microsoft files either....

There is a word editor thats free for Windows computers called Open Office. Its a free version of Microsoft Office, uses the same file types and all, including spread sheets and word documents. Its actually very good.
DataViz is scheduled to release a new version of Documents to Go for the iPod Touch / iPhone some time in the first half of May 2009. You can sign up for email notification at http://www.dataviz.com/products/documentstogo/iphone/notify/.
Now there is:
Quickoffice® Mobile Office Suite
it's $19.99, really expensive I think....
Apps like this for windows mobile & blackberry cost 20 bucks too.
yeah, i just saw that app.. looks pretty impressive.. i might consider getting this.. it's not that expensive for what you're getting.
