so i went into my Touch's folders using SSH and i went into my iTunes library (/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control) and changed the names of the songs so instead of HJTK or whatever, i listened to the track, and renamed it so i can easily recognize the track when i go into this folder. the problem is that when i go to listen to a song that i changed the name of, it doesnt play any sound. just a very, very slight buzz which you can only hear when the volume is up to the max. how do i get the music back? i just tried syncing my Touch to iTunes but its still the same.

Unfortunately that doesn't work because you named the file a different name, and in the Itunes DB file it is still known as HJGK or whatever.

Dont Mess with your ipods files unless you seriously know what you are doing

Restore unless you know the original name of that file, change the name back and try again

To Restore in iTunes means to Un-Jailbreak Your iPod.

    Sorry, but you screwed up.

What do you mean? If you restore you will have to rejailbreak and resync your music, and it will work

Dont Worry about it... I restore and rejailbreak every week because some obscure app screws it up.

Just dont install a lot of apps

Yes, that's just an added benefit of restoring.
