First of all if i get one person saying: "ZOMG just put it in recovery mode then restore JEEZ it cant be bricked", i will personally punch you in the face.

My ipod suddenly started doin weird shiet one day, sayin it was chagrin when it wasn't, freezing etc. Finally the screen just went black. When i force it into recovery/restore mode, it would NOT show this image:

And if you say i'm doing it wrong then ill have roundhouse kick you in the face.

Now it is in recovery mode, itunes detects that it is and says i gotta restore... so i do. it errors out through the restore (error 6 in particular) and gets stuck on a blank white screen. I have tried uninstalling and resinstalling itunes, redownloading the firmware through itunes and tried to restore it like 3 times. one of which was on another computer too.

trust me. its not getting fixed.

good thing i got a warranty till Jan 2010

Put it into DFU mode, then restore. DFU is a hardware chip.

Bricked means you cannot do anything with it. Unable to turn on or have any function. About as useful as a brick.

DFU mode is on a separate chip.

Yeah try DFU, its dif to normal recovery mode. But DFU can be hard to get into if your device is doing what you say it is, because its all about timing. Heck with a working device it can take people a few goes to get it right.

Is your screen on? Yes, it is. Does that mean it's bricked? No, it doesn't.

    DFU Restore.
