    No, it's not.

    1. DVD store data optically. They are read using a laser.
    HDD store the data magnetically.

    2. Even IF they stored data using the same method it wouldn't be possible.
    On a HDD the data is spread over all of the disks inside.
    So just putting in ONE disk you'd only get fragmented and non-readable data.

    Your on the right track, but no.

    HDD's store data Magnetically, and are read using a magnet, while cd's store data optically and are read using a laser.
