I have an old powermac G4 with tiger on it and I was wondering what I need in order to connect it wireless to the network. I have a wrt54g router if that helps.

    A wireless card.

There are possibilities for buying a D-Link (if your powermac G4 doesn't come with a wireless card- which is my assumption) wireless USB however.

I was looking at an airport express but I'm not sure if that is what I need. Do you have any suggestions as to what I should buy? You are also correct, my g4 doesn't have a wireless card installed.

Well, I think (from what I read before) the Airport Express is basically something that sets up your wireless for you (basically a router and modem combined), however our goal is to connect your computer to wireless! I will look for something for you right now.

I have a PowerMac G4, and there's a slot for an Airport/PCMCIA card, which will give you the ability to have wireless, considering you have the wireless router set up.

Before I get an airport card, I was looking for something that I could just put into the USB slot in the back. I currently have another desktop (which has windows installed) which has a USB wireless adapter and everything is fine. I just want to know if anybody makes a USB adapter that is supported by mac os X.

I went to bestbuy today and found a usb adapter that worked for the mac. Everything works perfectly now. Plus it was only $60 which isn't that bad, even though I only payed $39 for the adapter on my pc.

Yeah, it's more expensive often for Mac accessories, although it's usually better quality.

Congrats on getting Wi-Fi to work
