Twelve buttons on a touch screen (Excluding analog and start)?, I dont know how they are going to incorporate that.

yeah i understand that, but the touch is designed as a PORTABLE mp3 player and w/e else it does, otherwise we would have to use the psx emu on our pc all the time... could some buttons be gotten away with? could the d-pad be controlled by the accelorometer? then all we'd need are the 4 back buttons, and the 4 main buttons, and the analogue's
Any other sugestions? the buttons for the nes and gba are hard enough to use atm, so no chance in making smaller buttons

As someone suggested earlier, mabe an adapter that can fit into the bottom of the ipod and has a psx controller connector added to it... But this would be extreamley hard to do, i think

it's possible to make a connection "ad hoc" (in italy this is the used name). It's a connection between 2 devices using wireless without a switch. you can do it with an ethernet cable, wireless, bluetooth ecc.. think at the irda communications for mobile: they don't have a router but can communicate each other. Same thing for the bluetooth earphones:they can send input and recive audio. so i think it's possible but it isn't very easy to do...
