UPDATE: I have a new base, the icon in the post below is not the latest version! See the attachment or Page 4 for the new base.

Last night I decided to play around in photoshop creating a new template for icons, and I ended up creating quite a nifty Winterboard icon. Anywho, I ask you this: do you think (from looking at this icon) that this theme is worth pursuing? I am already working on 4 others so don't want to add to my load of work if no one is interested.

    well that's quite good then

the glyph layer style is pretty ok, could use less of a shadow/glow (or put it on color burn etc) and maybe make the snowflake a bit bigger if possible

the gloss, i'd put it on color dodge or overlay (or both) and mess with opacities so it doesn't make the colors so white, just lighter

the base looks good from what i can tell, but it's kinda hard to see it properly wth all the colors

Excellent work. Wow, I see you got active already (considering you just got an iPod) Definitely pursue!!!

But just one thing (no biggie though) - I don't think the angle of the bevel fits the angle of the lighting (of the base).

Can you post three versions so I can compare?
    1. The original...seen above (version 2)
    2. One without a bevel...so basically flat (2-D)
    3. One without a bevel, similar to 2 above, but with a curvature and gloss to match)

EDIT: 'Lollipop' seems to be the perfect name for the theme

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

Sorry SilentWalker, but I'm afraid to tell you that I didn't use a bevel at all!

Thus my lack of correct lighting.

I used a technique similar to in the second border of my avatar - a stroke with a gradient. I think it gives a unique look. I think I will play around with my lighting to make it slightly more realistic however. ^_^
