I'm trying to get Winterboard onto my friend's iPod Touch 1G. The challenge is that its Wireless is broken! I restored it to 3.1.2, and Jailbroke it using blackra1n. Now I read a lot about this through Google. I did use diskaid to put Winterboard.deb onto the iPod Touch.

But this is the problem. I need to execute it. I'd need Cydia to install it, right? So I'd need Cydia on there. I could put Cydia.deb or something on there. But I still can't execute it! To at least install Cydia, I need MobileTerminal on there, which is impossible to get! What do I do?

    Quick response please! Thanks.

No. With blackra1n you need internet to instll cydia because it doesnt install the afc2 service you need to see the root file system.

wasnt there a usb cydia called cyder? does it still work?

    here found it,

edit: that wont help much, you need to already be jailbroken and have cydia installed....you need a custom firmware thats jailbroken and has cydia. then you could restore to that and maybe use cyder to get cydia apps.

I think I might be able to have Cydia installed directly onto the iPod with the iPhone Dev Team's jailbreaking methods?

Anyways I'm need to return it to him now. But someone talk me over the custom IPSW. And I'll look into Cyder.

You could use Quickfreedom to make a custom 2.2.1 ipsw if you dont mind downgrading or use redsn0w to get a jailbroken 3.0 with Cydia
