This is just a simple guide on how to use winterboard to theme.
    To start off:

    Whats Winterboard
Winterboard created by Saurik, is a summerboard replacement that themes on all idevices(except for ipad, soon tho). This nifty app can change images on your device such as the background, app icons, and many other things. Its been around since 2.x firmware but now is avalible on 3.x aswell.

    Where do I get Winterboard
You can download it off Cydia or Rock for free

    What are themes
Themes are the images winterboard applies to your device. There are millions of themes in Cydia, Rock, and on the web ranging from free to paid.

    How do I get themes
Themes can be downloaded from Cydia or rock and then activated in the Winterboard app. Some themes however are not in a repository so they will need to be downloaded from the web and then SSH'ed.

    My themes are not working
If you downloaded it from Cydia or Rock then they should all be working, if they don't work then a simple fix it to remove them, then reinstall them. If themes your SSH don't work, then the theme has a possibility it has been corrupted from the making process, uploading, or downloading process. Email the dev to fix that.

What are some good themes for me
That depends on your taste, my favorite however is Glasklart.

Where are these options in Winterboard

    Hide Winterboard
It hides the winterboard app like what poof does to other apps, it can later be found in spotlight by searching 'winterboard'.

    Debug Logging
This is just incase something goes wrong in theming, a log is sent to Saurik to fix the problem.

    SummerBoard Mode
Most themes in cydia are old so they cant run properly on winterboard alone, summerboard mode helps winterboard out by making those themes work properly

    Select Themes
Its where you pick the themes you want to be applied. Picking more than one theme for the same target will not make both themes appear.

    Optimize Themes (v1.0)
This option makes all the themes you have currently on the device run smoothly. It does this by converting all the PNG's to apple format so the device can use them faster.

Well this bout sums it all up. If I missed anything feel free to tell me. Hope I helped all you newbies.

**Thanks for Appman for some pictures**

you didnt describe the most confusing part for some people, the actual list itself. i know when i first started, i was so confused about layering themes on top of each other and the preinstalled stuff that i was a little overwhelmed. the list is simple and self explanatory to most, but just a thought. nonetheless, great thread!

Looking good, but it could use some spelling and grammar editing. I would gladly fix it up a bit if you would like.
