i have 19 RAR files that need to be combined. i have "filename.rar", and "filename.r00", "filename.r01", "filename.r02", etc. up to "filename.r18". How do i go about combining these files?

Just extract one of them with WinRAR and it will do it automatically.

Can you put them all in a folder and create an archive?

Or you can select all of them, right click, and choose to add to a .rar archive.

    thank you!

now, in a whole new thing, i have 23 files. they arent rar files, even though they open with winRAR, the file extensions are 001, 002, 003, all the way to 023. i open up the first one, extract it, but the other ones dont extract.

That is how it works. You extract one only. It gets the information from the other parts and forms one entire File.

except with these new files, when i extract, the other files wont. what i am doing is putting those 23 files into a RAR (they are in a folder now), and hopefully they will auto-gather info again.

Put all the files into one folder. Extract only ONE RAR.

thats what i did before, except only one would extract and the file i extracted wouldnt open. and they arent RAR files.

after i put all the files into a RAR, and i extracted from one file, they all began to extract like before.

thanks teslanaut, you've been a big help lately.

Thats how they make it work. There is 1 .RAR file and the rest are .01, .02 and so on etc right?

If a file ends in .001, .002, with no .RAR file, you need something else for that. It is called HJSplit.
