Me and Joeywolfgram are very close to getting Windows XP on the iPhone and iPod Touch. You can probably expect tomorrow but I can't confirm it. This is not one of those lies. We are very close. This will be for the Bochs Emulator. I will not be able to post the link when it is done but I will post screenshots. This thread may seem pointless but I want to let you know that we are close and are working very hard,

I think its just a waste a time...

If Windows 95 runs horrible, then XP is going to be horrible.

I don't think anyone really wants an OS that takes 20 mins to boot up

You know the point in all this is (i think) to replace the OS on the hardware. The purpose of boch app is to run working OS on it. Now if we could modify it correctly and remove the very unnecessary registry. It would run smoothly without the emulator.

Nutshell\ create a Different OS Firmware.

Android would be great, but as for slow boot times, why not tinker with the IpS in OS.ini?

Unnecessary registry ? Dude, you can't even remove Internet Explorer from Windows. I remember there was an attempt, by someone under a strict court order, using Windows 98's source code directly from Microsoft (Win95 or 98 - I think it was 98) just to prove them he could. And he did. Using the source code.

When will we get to see the Windows XP source code ? Just like we did for Windows 98 - when hell freezes over. Why ? Because Microsoft builds newer versions of Windows based on OLDER versions ! The systemtray tooltip bug comes to mind. The most stupid bug dating back since Windows 95. If you hover your mouse pointer over the clock sometimes the popup will be UNDER the taskbar. It wasn't considered "top" priority so they left it alone for more than a decade.
